My First Date: So Refreshing

I remember one of my first real dates was when i was 13.  I met this girl during our acquaintance party organized by my school and the girl’s school.  It was the first time that i had ever attended a party and, for a 13 year-old kid, this is a monumental event.  I eventually asked her out during our summer break after stalking her for the entire school year.  hahaha… Yes, i went through my stalker phase like every other hormonally charged teenage boy.

I remember that day. it was a sunny saturday afternoon. I rode my bicycle to her place and we walked over to the park grounds inside greenhills west village.  it was a hot day and i bought her a bottle of 7-up while we were walking. We eventually settled on top of slide and just hung out there and talked.  I was so freakin’ nervous cuz it was the first time that we really went on a date.

I was just sitting beside her and was so anxious that i hardly moved.  She then offered me a sip of her drink and i obliged. I put the straw in my mouth and as i was about to take a sip, i suddenly lifted and tilted the bottle over my head and spilt the drink all over me. I paniced and froze until all the 7-up was all over my shirt. I calmly returned the now empty bottle of 7-up back to the girl as she looked on bewildered and wondering what just happened. She asked me if i was ok, and i replied, “yeah. i was just really thirsty.” as i wipe off all the 7-up all over me.
